Winter Hill is a truly magnificent golf club owned and managed by the John Lewis Partnership.

The golf club was the vision of John Spedan Lewis, the founder of the Partnership. Discovering Winter Hill for the first time is like uncovering a hidden treasure. Built on fast-draining terrain, it boasts exceptional views over Cookham, the River Thames and the famous Cliveden.

Played at its longest, the course is 6,397 yards in length with a par of 72. From the ladies' tee the course is 5,761 yards, par 73. There is also a practice area and a putting green available for those wishing to brush up on their skills and two fully qualified PGA golf professionals are on hand to book lessons and give expert advice.

Members and visitors alike are always guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome. The club is ideal for both small and large groups and offers an exquisite and tranquil setting for society days. We can tailor-make a package for your golf society or event; our professional team of staff are on hand to ensure your event is truly one to be remembered.

Although we do not have booked tee times for general play, we do reserve either the 1st or 10th tees to allow societies, matches and corporate events to tee off.

The Lady Captain and Professional's mixed away break took place on the 18th and 19th of April at the Marriott Meon Valley Golf Resort with fourteen couples enjoying two days of sunshine. Playing conditions were tricky, firm and bouncy with a stiff breeze but nevertheless scoring was good. Both days competitions were 4 BBB and Saturday's winners were Sue and Richard Dale with 40 points with Nancy and Paul Ovstedal runners up on 38 points beating Catherine and Richard Monger on countback.

On Sunday all pairings were changed to split up couples and Lorna Kirby and Clive Moulton were victorious on 40 points beating Heather Manders and Geoff Mckinnie on countback. Mike Smith added a little drama to the weekend scoring a hole in one on the 139 yards (over water) 7th hole on the Meon Course. It was Mike's third ace to date! A good time was had by all and I am looking forward to next years event.
